Common questions
How do I know if my disposal needs cleaning?
If it smells, runs slow, makes noise, or has not been cleaned in a long time, it probably needs cleaning. Most people ignore theirs until it stops working right.
Will you replace my disposal if it is broken?
No. We clean disposals, we do not install new ones. If the disposal is not a candidate for cleaning, we tell you and recommend a replacement. A handyman or plumber does that.
How long does a clean take?
About 20 to 40 minutes per disposal, depending on condition. We inspect, clean the splash guard, clear the chamber, flush with cleaning solution, test run, and give you a report.
How long does a clean last?
Depends on use and what goes down the disposal. Most customers get six to twelve months between cleans. A bio-enzyme treatment can extend that.
Do you do commercial disposals?
Residential units only unless we explicitly agree beforehand. Large restaurant disposals and industrial grinders are out of scope.
Can you come to my rental or Airbnb?
Yes. We clean disposals between guests. Tell us the address and the turnover schedule when you book.
Do you warranty the clean?
No satisfaction guarantee. If we complete the clean as described, the quoted price is due. If the disposal is not a candidate for cleaning when we inspect it, you pay nothing for the clean.
What is the inspection fee?
An inspection-only visit is $25. If you proceed with the clean at the same visit, the inspection fee is waived and applied to the clean price. If the disposal is not a candidate, you pay the $25 inspection fee and nothing for the clean.
What if the disposal is leaking?
A leak can damage the cabinet below. Tell us about it when you call and we will prioritize the appointment. We include a leak check in our inspection.
What if the disposal is humming but not turning?
That is usually a jam. Running a jammed disposal can burn out the motor. Tell us about it when you call and we will offer the soonest available appointment.
Do you charge for travel?
The first 10 minutes of driving each way are free. Past that, travel is $1.50 per minute of round-trip drive time during the day, and $2.00 per minute after hours. Rounded to the nearest $5.
What counts as after-hours?
8 am to 5 pm weekdays. Weekends are after-hours.
